Placing your first wholesale jewelry order from an overseas manufacturer is not as complicated as it sounds, but there are things worth knowing before you start. This is what the process looks like at Artistica.
What to prepare before you reach out
You do not need much to start. The most useful things to have ready are a rough idea of what styles you want (rings, necklaces, earrings, or a mix), your target retail price range, and a sense of how many pieces you want in the first order.
If you have specific designs in mind, photos help. If you want to browse what we have and pick from our catalogue, that works too. We can send you a PDF catalogue or you can browse the collection on this site.
How we quote wholesale orders
Wholesale pricing depends on the design complexity, the silver weight, and any stones. We quote per piece. Our minimum order is 15 pieces per design, which means you can mix designs as long as each individual design meets the minimum.
We send you a price list once we know what you are looking for. Most first-time buyers request a sample of 2 to 3 designs before committing to a full order.
Samples
Samples are available for most catalogue designs. We produce them at cost plus a small fee, and if you proceed with a bulk order the sample cost is deducted from your total. Samples ship within 10 to 14 days.
Production and lead time
After you confirm the order and we receive the deposit, production takes 3 to 6 weeks. We send quality control photos before shipment. If anything does not look right, we fix it before it ships.
Payment
We work with bank transfer. Payment is 50% deposit to start, balance before shipment. We issue a commercial invoice and packing list, which you will need for customs clearance in your country.
Customs and import
We handle all export documentation from Indonesia. You are responsible for import duties in your country. Most of our buyers in Singapore, the USA, Japan, and Europe work with a customs broker or freight forwarder. If you do not have one yet, it is worth finding one before your first shipment arrives.
After delivery
If something arrives damaged in transit, photograph it and contact us within 3 days of delivery. We deal with damage claims seriously and will arrange a replacement or credit.
Most buyers place their second order before the first one even arrives. Once you have seen the quality in person, the process becomes straightforward from there.
